Help w factory date vs yr purchase

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I bought a new ford explorer limited from the dealer last week. It being still January, when my SUV arrives next week will the factory date on the vehicle be jan 2014 or most likely dec 2013.

The dealer is advertising 2014 so is would assume its a 2014 factory date. I'm confused about this.

It's a model year 2014, the build date may be 2013(most likely 2014), but either way your title will say 2014.

You can also go to this website and enter your VIN to see what all the codes mean. If you have an "E" in the 10th position, that indicates model year 2014.
