Earlier today I tried to get a 1 In /2 Out Flowmaster(40 series) for my Sport 2door, the only thing that stopped progress was that damn spare tire mounted underneath the ass end of the truck. Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do about the spare? I really want two guns out the back but concealed behind the bumper and with the tire there I dont see a logical way of that happening.

Take the spare out from underneath it and ditch it if you have roadside assistance. If not, throw it in the back of the truck. Also I know there is a spare tire mount thread on here somewhere for mounting it in the cargo area. Use the search for that if thats something you would be interested in.

i have a 2003 exp sport and a dual exhasut the left side pipe goes next to the right side to the left of the stock exhaust tunnel and them between the rear end pumpkin, and then back up over the leaf spring and straight out the back. if i get a chance i will try to get some pictures up so you can see. i did it in my garage with a stick welder and some pre bent exhaust pipe!! :D

i got single in and dual out 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport and i still got the spare tire the muffler shop didnt tell me that my spare was in the way. Some how I must of been lucky. Cause one of my friend has a 97 xlt and he wanted to do the same setup as me and they told him he couldnt because his spare was in the way.

I am just wondering how come when i got my 40 series flows the muffler shop didnt say anything bout the spare. Previous owners of my sport had the 70 series flowmasters and i got rid of them. I am much happier with my 40 series flows cause it sounds so much louder and deeper.

It can be done, it just takes a shop that is good, and wants to spend the time routing the piping.

yes-but after time the fuel line protective sleeve will start to melt-

been there-

There will be a bout 3/4" clearance to the tire and fuel line-and there is no way around it.

The only safe way to have dual exhaust IMO is without a spare tire.

I'm all for losing the spare :) I haven't had one in 4 years.

Same here I had to take my spare tire out for the dual exhaust to work so now i just strap it to the top when i go out of town :).

Thanks you guys, I really want this issue resolved. As of now I have the 40 series single IN single OUT and man does it sound mean AND its a manual transmission so I can blip the throttle to make it sound Mustang-y when I pull off at traffic lights.I HAVE TO HAVE DUAL! Getting it done today...that spare is in the back cargo area until I figure out if I should keep or not. THANKS AGAIN!!!

I'm about to join you guys in the duals department. I decided that the 50 series isn't loud enough for me. It has a good sound to it and its aggressive but I want something deeper and more aggressive for my tastes. So I'm ditching the force 2 kit for the Super 40 series dual in dual out 2.5'' piping. I'll try to get some video up in the next week as Im probably going to get it done tommorrow. The difference is mine is the 5.0 not 4.0

Oh my oh me!!!

Hey guys, I got the Flowmaster 40 series single in dual out done 2 days ago...BAD NEWS! I got my first CHECK ENGINE light today, took the Sport to Autozone to have a ECU check and the code came back that I'm not getting sufficient exhaust flow back to my EGR...a new EGR is 59.99 but I really dont feel like shelling out that kind of money for something I know wont fix my problem. So what should I do? I'm seriously thinking about going back with the single in single out 40 series I purchased first...I still have it and the Sport didn't throw any CEL light from Dallas to Texarkana which is a 2 1/2 hour drive when I had it on. I really love the sound of the duals but if they have to go, they have to go!

that sux bout ur x hope u get the problem fixed.

The muffler has little or no effect to egr-
Check the DPFE sensor ans hoses.
