Help with trany grinding

I have a 98 sport with a 5 speed trany and it is 4 wheel drive. I have a problem with reverse,it grinds when you try to put it in reverse and driving down the road in any gear and let off the gas you hear grinding and if you take it out of gear while rolling it grinds. Now after putting 2 new tranys in its still doing the same thing. I tried the reverse in 4 wheel drive high and still the same thing grinding when you try reverse so I put the thing in low 4 wheel drive and I have reverse and no grinding in the other gears,can anyone help

I think that you may have a problem with the transfer case, not the transmission.

There is a failure mode where the gears become misaligned when coasting or in reverse, I think that might be your issue.
