Greets,

I used a socket...deep socket six sided, pretty sure it was 13mm.... but it's not that bad, I turned fan pulley to rotate TC....

yeah i found out yesterday it was a 9/16 metric deep socket :P

Now that that milestone is out of the way I gotta figure out how to Get the bellhousing bolts out. I got the bottom two and top two but the ones in the middle are giving me the biggest problem. Then after I get that taken care of i can finally get it out. Just gotta figure out how to get it out without hurting the a4ld or even more important me!! :P

I had the most trouble with the Top two...so If you got those I would think you doing well, I used several extensions and a breaker bar w/ a pipe extension as needed to get mine... Good Luck!

I was able to get them all out from the top with the intake removed. Another question... When you removed yours could you turn the input shaft freely?

what was wrong with your a4ld? Mine wont turn in either direction Which is scaring me...

When you remove the front pump, there are two ring gears...the smaller one was broken in three places.... I have horrible short term memory, and I pulled it 3 or 4 weeks ago....so don't get worried based on that unless someone here who is more experienced can tell you for sure if you should be able to rotate the input shaft.

I am having trouble getting the center support down enough Unless i remove torrington bearings ughhhh

Is your a4ld a later model with snap shell on input shell with sun gear (the sun gear on bottom of this goes into rear planetary) and a 4.0 liter?

If so, there was a flat steel washer it's thrust washer #14 I think, it has 20sum teeth in hole, matches bottom of snap shell, it was eliminated after 93, and it is still in the kit, if you used it removing it might solve your problem...it did for me....
