I just bought an '05 Sport and plan on making a lot of mods. I'm sure I'll need some help along the way and would appreciate any advice or suggestions. The pics will start coming soon. I'm a soldier in the US Army and will be going to Iraq in 2 months. That should help finance a lot of the project.

Torsion Twist

I think I'm going to start with a Torsion Twist and see what I can get that way. Should be able to get about 2". I'm not looking for a huge lift, just one that will allow me to run 31s with minimal rubbing. Eventually I'll go with a body lift, but the TT will be done tomorrow.

Can't find the torsion bars.

Where are the torsion bars located on the '05? I looked at my neighbors older model explorer and found them right away. Also found the torsion bar 101 in the other forum and still can't find them. Looked everywhere on my '05 and can't find them anywhere.

this is a 2 door explorer correct?..it so they should be right there in plain view

well then you dont have t-bars..you have the dreaded irs-ifs...no way to do a susp lift at this point, and very few have even attempted a body lift and thoes who have arent on this board, only pics of their rigs have been found

I'll do my best.

I am going to do everything I can to get this truck how I want it. I'll be sure to keep you all updated. Guess I'll start with the interior and engine mods and figure the suspension out later. Wish me luck.
