I've noticed two problems that seem to have started happening simultaneously.

Poor Gas Milage - Recently dropped from about 15 to near 10.5
and
Hesitation during acceleration, if i let off pedal and back on usually clears up.

I was thinking it could be a bat cat? I also have been reading up on here and found some different but similar issues. No one really experiencing the same two issues.

If the two issues are related, what might it be and what tests can i do to check?

If not related?

Before replacing the cat I would start simple. Plugs and wires, fuel filter, etc. Let us know what you have tried.

X2. If you haven't done a tune up in the recent past then start there. At least you have a base-line then.

I'd check fuel pressure after the tune up.

x3 if your Ex has a 100K miles on it. I would do plugs, wire/coils, fluids, belt, and filters.

Thanks for the replies everyone,

plugs wires, etc would def cause hesitation.

could it also cause poor milage?

I'll prob start with plugs anyway...

Also, clean the MAF sensor and Throttle Body.
