Fairly new guy to the forum here (Its been a tremendous help). Bought a 2WD 99 XLT with 160K on a stock 4.0 SOHC a few months back. Finally got around to getting some work done on it.

When I bought it, it ran good, but was dirty as all hell in the engine bay and hadn't had a tune up in God knows when, so I did a full tune up. Plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, Seafoam, oil change, etc. Cleaned the throttle body and MAF, then developed a misfire. It got pretty bad for a little while and I was worried that maybe the engine was crapping out on me, but after some searching here and posting a thread about the problem, I figured I'd start running down the list of stuff to replace and see if it got any better. Replaced the coil pack, a fuel injector, and the intake mani gaskets, and finally got the misfire to go away. I'm pretty sure it was just the manifold gaskets cause they were shot. But got her running good finally, and man she runs like a top now.

For there I needed a new set of tires, cause one was bald, so I found a set of Falken 31's with rims for a price too good to pass up, so I jumped on them. Had to do a shackle/TT lift to get a little more room for clearance and trimming to stop them from rubbing, but got that knocked out and it sits a hell of a lot better.

The mods work that I'm still gonna have to do to it are:
-Build custom rocker covers to go over the holes left when I removed the running boards
-Rebuild the front suspension cause most of the bushings are shot
-Brake job
-New exhaust
-Build custom front and rear bumpers
-Roof mount light bar and lights on the front bumper

She's a work in progress at the moment, but she's all mine and getting where I want her, so I can't complain.

How she started life with me:

And how she sits now:

The 31's and the little bit of lift really make the difference. The stance is outstanding.

Very nice truck, love the color choice:D

Mine the day I got her:
