2012 Explorer Base - V6
Hey everyone,

Just joined, I'm about to get my 3rd Explorer. Started w/ a 2000, now drive a 2005 and my new 2012 should be arriving in a few weeks.

I work in field service so I drive about 25k a year and while the mileage isn't the best the trucks have been very good to drive.

Even though I'm about to get a new explorer I wondering if anyone can answer a question I have. Why does my '05, 4.0 6 cyl 6 speed auto, have horrible pedal lag. When I'm on the freeway and I need to go I press the pedal to the floor, but instead of getting up and moving there can be almost a 2 sec lag. I've learned to live with it, but man there are times I wish it wasn't there.

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

I believe the lag is due to the "drive by wire" system.

Any way to fix it? I have an '04 Chev Trailblazer with drive by wire and there's no lag at all in it.

Any idea on what the PCM Flash would cost? Have had it done to my boats before since outboard motors are flyby wire these days as well.
