High beams after adding HID's

So do you loose your highbeams or do the HID still act as the highbeams?

Explorer uses a single bulb regardless of whether it is HID or Halogen. Within the headlight housing, there is a flap that blocks part of the beam for standard lights. When you hit the highbeam, the flap drops, projecting the entire beam through the lense. This is why with a projector lense, you have the distinct cutoff line....The area of light above the cutoff is blocked by the flap.

The area of light below the cutoff. The lens flips the light from top to bottom. If you take the projector apart, the cut off shield is on the bottom.
