Today when I was driving with a friend to get a keg. On the way back, my explorer engine temp immediately rose to maximum temp. I pulled over and killed the engine.

After 5 mins i start it, it still shows hot, and rising back to max, i turned off the air conditioner in my explorer, it immediately went back to normal temp.

I tried to use the AC again, and it did not have any problem? but I turned the AC off anyway.

I m no expert with AC's so Im wondering if this needs further attention?

there could have been an air bubble in the system or could be a sticky thermostat. i'd keep a close eye on it and if it keeps getting warm take it in and have it checked out.
