I recently replaced my damaged aluminum hood with a steel one. It was $100 bucks cheaper and decided to go for it. Little did I know that my hood shocks would no longer be strong enough to keep the steel open (DUH) :banghead:

I'm wondering if someone is familiar with much more powerful shocks, and if this is as simple as a replace procedure. I haven't researched it much because it LOW on the priority list.

If nothing else, I can just find stronger shocks for anything really and just make a bracket for the hood. Thanks.

How old are your existing struts? They may be old or weak to start with. When I replaced my struts I found it difficult to close my aluminum hood. Just saying...

I believe they're original. I'll look in to your point. Might just need new OEM ones
