Would appreciate any tips on intermittent no start issue after driving awhile.Cranks great but... Thanks for any thoughts.

What engine in this Ranger?

One of my first hard or no start on hot start is to check the fuel pressure regulator. When the diaphragm inside the FPR ruptures, it can let excess fuel into the intake --effectively flooding the engine on hot starts until the excess fuel has had time to dissipate. Run the engine, then check the vacuum line going to the FPR and see if there is any gas coming out. Gas in this vacuum line = bad FPR.

If the FPR checks out ok in that respect, put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if the fuel system is generating sufficient pressure on hot starts.

Check fuel pressure, a failing pump will not deliver much fuel once it gets hot.

Thanks for your ideas.F P R checks out fine.Fuel pump also good.Problem goes away if I keep the hood up and let things cool down but have to keep her running to avoid the occasional no start problem. Thanks again.
( p.s. It's the 2.3 engine)
