Hi i want to correctly troubleshoot my EGR valve I have P0401 trouble code. I do own a pro scanner and i have no workshop troubleshooting data.

I have checked the vacuum lines both ends and they look ok I have ordered a new hand vacuum pump kit to aid testing. I checked voltage from the plug when KOEO and got 5 v from 1 of the wires.

I know its a gas flow related problem. The EGR valve I have fitted is part no 4L2E-9Y456-H3A by SIEMENS.

I am a certifed mechanic sadly need more information. The motor runs fine and appears to have a very good engine.

My Explorer is a 2005 v6 4.0 and has the DPFE built into the valve.

Any help with this would be appricated

Well I know this. With that code and with the type of valve you have you have to replace the whole thing. I had to do that with mine

egr

When you replaced the valve did it fix it and did the light go out.?
