I'm having trouble. I believe I wire everything properly my amp isnt powering on. I've heard that the remote wire may not be giving enough volts for it to work, any suggestions? really have no clue what I could have wired wrong.

jose123, there is a write-up by Joe Dirt on adding an amp and sub

Alphabet Soup, the OEM Ford remote is 5V, which was not enough to trigger the amp I was using. The high-low converter I used, a PAC OEM-2, converted the 5V to 12V, with delayed turn-on.

So I need a new converter? Is there any way around that by chance? If not thats cool. I'm having a dude from the best buy install dock come take a look at it tomorrow. Hopefully he can offer some help. I'm assuming he's hooked up to some sort of stock explorer head unit. My friend got his 05 explorer hooked up at best buy. 05 still 5v?

you could just tap into the acc ignition wire then when ever the key is turned on the amp is on...

im using the same blue scosche converter in my x and it works just fine with my stock cd player i currently have a 600 watt amp and 2 12's ..the amp remote turn on wire i tapped into the same wire that powers the radio on and off and and once connected the amp will also

Well I attached mine to "logic mute" wire. It was only putting out like 3.41 volts. I have a 900 watt amp.

My solutiou:
I bought a toggle switch and I connected my power wire to it and my remote wire to it and I just turn my amp on and off manually. I may tap into my ignition later I dunno.
