About once a month I drive to NJ from Long Island to go shopping or visit friends. I make sure I drive by the WTC site to see the construction progress they are making. Last time I checked, they still have the barricade surrounding the site. Not much progress I guess. I still remember where I was, what I was doing on the exact time the first plane hits the first tower and the second.

It's hard to believe it has been 2 years. :(

I still to this day remember every second.

GOD Bless America!!

i wont ever forget where i was. i was at the local pepboys killing time before work. when my wife called and told me what happened i told her it was probably an accident, then she told the other tower had been hit also. i told the person working at pepboys what happened and left to go to work early.

it still brings a tear to my eye when i think about 9-11-01.:(

me to.

I had just gotten out of the shower during my freshman year of college and my roommate said a plane crashed into it... as we sat watching the second hit. Then in our Pl Sc class, as the prof thought the best lesson would be to watch history as it happened, tower 1 collapsed (or 2). Never forget any of it...

sitting in my accounting principles 1 class, we took a break, one of my class mates came back from the cafeteria and said the lunch ladies mentioned a plane wreck, so our instructor went to get a radio. We sat and listened to it on the radio, then our instructor let us leave early and i went to the church (where i worked) and watched it on the tv.

crazy scary stuff... I will never feel totally safe, bc if they want to do something bad enough they will, just like we will. But I dont live in fear, bc I know where Im going when I die. No need to worry about something out of my control.

It still gives me chills to even think about it...it is something that we will never forget. It made us a much stroger country though so it did have at least one "positive" effect.

what make me mad is the fact that everybody had patriotism (sp?) for about 3-4 months, then its back to the middle finger salute when you try to thank some one for letting you change lanes even if you had your turn signal on.

several emotions overcome me..

saddness as the images i seen on tv that day are burned forever into my mind.

pride that we have so many men and women fighting for our freedom so we don't have to endure something like that again

but NOT FEAR, we can not live in fear.

i think like everybody i was outraged at what happened because my feelings were that if they can hit america they can hit any body and i still feel it was a horrific thing to do but ultimatly i belive america is the worlds worst terrorist so may be it was just a matter of time.

If you want to open that can of worms do it in the Political Forum. Don't taint this thread with that.

The title of the thread is "How do "You" feel two year later. That's how he feels. No body ask you to like it...

dont get me wrong i dont hate americans but your governments actions make its citizens targets the list go's on forever ,remember vietnam, cambodia, guatamala, cuba, ecudor chile you even had the elected government removed from australia because it didnt suit you in 1975 the death of how many millions of innocent people lives is your government responsible for i personaly want nothing to do with anybodys government

Anyway, back to the thread. I was driving into work and I was listening to NPR. The local station carrying NPR, WHYY, has a morning host named Brenda Jorett who suddenly came on and said that a small commuter airplane had crashed into one of the twin towers. I thought that was a strange accident. They didn't get an update on that before I got into work where I found a crowd around the TV in our lunch room watching CNN. That's when I got the real story and watched the second plane hit live.

How do I feel now? More awake than 2 years ago to the evils of this world. Sad and angry about what happened. Glad our government is taking a stand against that evil... even if it's not a perfect government.

Well I still get very angry every time I think about it. But I did have a more personal experience than most all of you guys here. It is hard to believe that its been 2 years already. No matter what I say or do it is ALWAYS in the back of my mind when I travel and that is not something I want to be thinking about at 30,000. For something to leave that much of a lasting impression on me I must have seen some horrible things.

Tex, do you mind telling us about your experience? Or do you have a thread about it? If you don't want to dredge it up that's OK too though.

Well, I was 20 minutes late to work this morning and I cried again watching the memorial services. What set it off this morning? CNN aired about a 20 minute section of news clips from that disturbing morning. After it they cut back to the children reading off the names of victims live in NY. When the little boy who looked to be maybe 10ish read "and my Father ____ _____" it brought tears to my eyes once again 2 years later.

I don't think the nation has forgotten. We've just changed focus on moving forward. There will always be debate as to whether we're doing enough or too little and if we're doing right but all we can do is believe in our elected leaders and trust that they are doing what's best for our nation as a whole. God Bless the victims, the families, and our nation!!!:us:
