Many of you have nice subs and even nicer boxes for the subs. All are very nice and very cool.. :chug: and must sound amazing!!

I'm currently looking at an amp & subs, but a question that quickly came to mind is:

How do you protect and/or hide the subs everytime you leave your vehicle? ie: in a parking lot for a night out etc.??

I've had my ex's windows broken for nothing more than pocket change that I was stupid enough to leave in plain view (like $2 CDN), so what about when someone sees your fancy subs???? isn't that tempting fate???

Thanks,
PJ

Alot depends on where you live. My explorer was broken into back in my hometown which is becoming kinda ghetto. They stole my HU and a ton of CD's. But here in Auburn my stuff is pretty safe. Not safe enough to leave it unlocked but not as bad as Montgomery. Most people buy nice alarms too.

I just pull my cargo cover over them.

Cargo cover? - You mean that fancy 'thing' that covers your whole 'trunk area'? That costs a few 100 from the dealer??..

Do you leave the cargo cover on all the time?
I couldnt see going 'back' there every time just to cover the subs...

Same as tex, cargo cover.

Or, you could build a stealthbox, like I am in the process of doing :P

I had a thread about this a while back, discussing ways to secure your box to the car. But the fact remains, if they see it and can't steal it, they will destroy it. So deterence (alarm) or prevention (cargo cover/stealth) is your best bet.

Well, I'm in Toronto - a nice & clean city by any standard. My Ex was in a parking garage during work hours & no doubt the victim of a homeless person (who else would do so much for so little).
I would never think of leaving my Ex unlocked..not for a second (even though its practically worthless) ...

BTW I just took a look at your cardomain page and I am very impressed :chug:
I wish my 1st gen black ex would grow up to be like yours some day! :burnout:

Yeah, I just leave the cover on all the time.

A "stealth box"! - very cool idea :chug: . I'll search for your previous thread.

Please tell/show us how your stealth box goes in the future...

Thanks,

Will do (I plan on posting a detailed work log in a few weeks once it gets done. I just started a new job so I am starting to find less time to work on the project, which actually includes two boxes, one of which will house my amp in a little partition of it.

Thanks about my site. And also I am planning on adding some LED's to those grilles, that should make them look even better, and more custom like ;)

I have 3 separate amps in my truck and all of them are behind the side cargo peices. Hidden from theives. my sub box just fits under the cargo cover too

Boomin, do you have any pics of this? I promise I wont steal them :)

By the way your new front end looks sweet.

Since my sub is in the stock location it would be pretty difficult to steal. However the amp is mounted in the cargo area so I just pull the cargo shade over the rear.

Get the windows tinted.

this wont hide, but will help protect. Where ever you are guna naprk, turn your system down a coupel blocks away, If someone heres Bass, and they can hear it coming from yours they are guna nknow you havea system wether they can see it or not......

Hi
I'm planning on putting a system in my 93 Ex next month. I am going to get a small box maybe a 8 or 10" band pass so it'll hide under the cover no prob. The amps though is there anywhere to mount one other than the back of the seat?
Thanks

Hey - someone else in Ontario! :chug:

Re parts: Vanandtruckworld.com have valances and billet grills for 93s, but they don't have clear corners.

Have you heard of or check out any other local suppliers? vanandtruckworld is the only one I know of so far...

Would the amp mount in the stock location? I don't know for sure as I don't have a 'system' yet...

What's the difference between putting your new sub in the stock location instead of in a separate box (just sitting in the back)?

Is there a difference?
