how many db's

does anyone have a sytem in their x that can push more that 150 db's i can push about 145-147 but without getting another amp i can seem to get over 150

i never measured...

but i had two 12" HCCAs that split the windshield.
a few systems later, i put in four 15" XTRs (caused the ceiling to fall). now my system is pretty much gutted. i'm going to rebuild it soon. but i dont go for SPL. i'm looking for good sq, and my kids cant handle too much bass.

my old setup did 151 but I'm changing the box to get a bit better sq. Should still be around 147 though

Joker what system do u have that hits 147 or so? i've never had mine tested but i wouldnt mind knowing what it is, i've got 2 JL 12w3's in the new HO box.

its a great setup. I have people sit in my car and comlain because it hurts their ears, you also get alot of looks because not many people have a system that loud. You'll be very impresed with the system and its well worth the money

Phat98, you'll love them. I've yet to find anyone with 2 12s in their car that hit as hard. They also sound clean. Trust me u'll be impressed. they pound

me traded my 15" earthquake in, had no room to put it in the new car so i bought me an pair of 12"ers and 2 new zapco amps.

my setup is as follows now :

2 12" juggers
2 * c2k-6.0x zapco amp (1325 watts @ 2 ohm)
2 * 1.5 fahrad Stingers
1 * yellow top

i bet you i can give slick an run for his money, i really haven't turned the system all the way up , i'm kinda scared something will give, and i know it's not going to be the speakers. when i get finished with it, since right now i just have it build in , and i really haven't finished it yet i will make some pictures of the system to show you guys, btw it's not gonna be of an X-plorer since i traded that booger in towards an car.

i know leen, i heard them about 2 weeks ago in an guys car, he just had 1, man that thing hits, they are expensive even if you buy them way under retail the are still over 300 bucks a piece, i think i paid 380 a piece for them , wich is actually not an bad deal concidering they are more then 2twice on retail.

and i'm very happy with Zapco amps, i don't think RF can't beat them personally, i have seen guys runnning 15" eplises off an 200 watt zapco and still had to turn down the amp, those amp will put out some serious watts, i really never measured how efective they are but i will do that one day when i have some time...

leenjen 3 ?....dang, i really don't want another one in my little VW, i think 2 is more then enough, heck my ears hurt after a while anywyas.

I have a question for you guys...

It is a fact that exposure to music at 110-115 db for 15 minutes a day can cause hearing damage.

My question is why do you want/need such a db level?

This is not to put you down, I just am wondering why you would want to potentially damage your presious hearing.

It does...

In some areas the police are ticketing "noise violations'.

I truly hope some of you younger folks truly realize how valuable hearing is and don't purposely impair yours.

The JL 500/1 amp is awesome, i need to get my spl level tested, it should prolly be in the mid 140's, not bad. Do you guys think i should get a capacitator? what do they do exactly?
