How many miles on your 5.0?

Mine has about 187,x.. on a 1999.

Im just curious to how many miles people have.

two with low 180's and one with low 150's. looking at craigs list in my area it seems that most of the 5.0's for sale have around 180k on them for some reason.

edit: none of my 3 burn any oil between changes, or leak any oil. they all drive like they have more like 30k on them. i see no reason why i shouldn't get at least 300k out of them. we love these trucks!

My 97 has over 200,000 and doesn't burn or leak oil. Synthetic oil changes at every 5k goes a long way.

My 2001 has 120k. It is almost done - previous owner used 5W20 oil for 9 years and now I have to go with 5W40 to have decent pressure at idle...
I saw this issue (oil pressure gauge fluctuating at idle) happening in several posts here.

I always run 5w20 and my engine is cherry. Previous owner did too. I'd say something else caused your issue... My guess is that you thinking you need 40 weight has starved some parts of your engine of proper lubrication.

'97 EB approaching 275K Southern miles, so no rust. I bought it with about 30K miles 15 years ago. Original motor and tranny; all on-road, very little towing; my wife's daily driver right now. Uses about a quart of 5W30 oil every 1000 miles or so; other small stuff starting to break/go bad but AC still works great and it never breaks down. Has been a great value.

157,000 on my '97...no leaks, no dents! This truck gets used hard...camping trips, sea kayak carrier, ski trips...that said, no off-road.

My 2000 XLT has the original 5.0 with 214568 miles, doesn't use or burn oil. Everything is in good condition and works great. Love this truck wouldn't change anything.

My ‘99 has 121k per the odo, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was swapped in from another truck. It runs and shifts great, but the rest of the vehicle was worn the hell out before I got my hands on it.

My 99 5.0 has 251K. No major work done. I just replaced the radiator last week. Thank God for this forum and Youtube. I did it myself. Using bungee cords to hold the condenser while separating the radiator from the condenser clips helped immensely. Thanks to a Forum contributor for that tip. I only have a small oil leak. I think its the main seal.
