How much bigger?????

OK, so I'm wanting to run bigger tires on my 99 Ranger XLT 4x4. The size i have on there now is 245/75/16 I've been told by a few people that I can run a 265/75/16. Can I or can't I? Some say yes, some say no. Anybody know for sure? Thanks for any help you can send my way. Johnny

you could possibly but it would be pushing it...you would def. need to trim up some bit...i believe that comes out to be about a 32X10.5...my friend runs that on his 3/4 ton chevy 4x4...i would go with a 265/70/16 instead, espically if you are gonna be offroading it at all (flexing and whatnot)...
