While I had the rear rotors off for brake maintenance on my '04 XLT the other day, I decided to check bearing condition by grabbing the hub and moving it axially and radially. I miked it out, and got .002" of total radial play, and .004" of total axial play. The rear bearing isn't making any noise. Is this too much play? Ordinarily, I'd go ahead and replace the bearings out of an abundance of caution, but I'm short on time and cash right now, and I've read how much of a b1tch this job can be.
TIA!

Make sure the nut is torqued down properly. I’ve had one come loose.
