How not to do a u-turn in the snow!

I would feel the same way after getting pulled out by a heep, but just imagine how you feel after getting pulled out by a girl in a Chevy, but before you say anything she was the last person in my phone book on my cell phone and she is really, really, really good looking.

then thats excusable haha.

Phil, that picture is awsome! What's the story behind that?

It was in perfect shape before this. Now the passenger side running board is chewed up on the bottom, and the front bumper has a three inch long scratch down to the plastic on it.
Oh well. It gives it character. Besides, if you drive an SUV in perfect condition you're either dropping the kids off at soccer practice, or picking up some groceries. ;)

haha....that is a cool looking heep though

Yeah, it is. It's a '99 TJ with a Dana 300 twinstick, 9" in the rear out of a Lincoln, and a D44 front out of a scout. He's put a lot of time into that thing.

Lower parking lot, Cabin Creek snowpark on Snoqualmie pass, 8" fresh wet snow and snowing hard.

The Prison Bus belongs to a church group that had chartered it out to the UW to take some exchange students XC skiing.

They had to go to the lower lot to turn around and there was enough of an incline that he couldn't without chains. Even with chains on the outer rear wheels, he couldn't move.

While I pulled the Astro van that was accompanying him, out backwards (no pull points on the front) he chained up the inner rear tires. I came back and hooked to the front more as a guide then anything because the parking was getting very full and tight.

Link chains, 4low and an excellent photo op. He was really happy to get the help so he didn't hit anything.

Can't do that with a Subaru! :p

A few years ago (when my shift motor wasn't working all the time) I got stuck in my yard and had to pull it out with a 4wheeler...talk about embarassing. That was street tires, open differential, and no 4x4 though...

I suspect that, with a locker and three or four snowshoeing buddies standing on the rear bumper, he may have gotten enough traction to back out.

Did you guys try piling everyone on the rear bumper to get it to move? Just curious.... I always get amused when what seems like a very simple stuck takes a ton of work to move a foot!
