This seems like a strange question, but here it goes. I need to replace the front passenger side rotor for the brakes, caliper is clamped on and ground the brake pads on that side to rivets, making the rotor groovy. I called a used parts place to find out if they had a replacement rotor, just trying to save a couple of $$. (New one is $55-58) The guy at the used parts place said he would need to know the gear ratio on my Explorer (the new parts places never asked for this)
Where and how would I find out the gear ratio? It's a 94 XLT 4WD with auto transmission and auto locking hubs. Does he need this info? Seems a bit strange, but I'm not a repair expert either.

He doesnt need that information but to find your axle ratio look at the sticker in the jam of the drivers door. There will be a code under the word axle, compare that code to the list here.

The only differences in rotors I can think of would be for abs or not. As was said gear ratio should not make a difference.
