How to fix Brake Pad rub?

02 Explorer 2WD - back brake pad is rubbing on back side of rotor causing a constant "rubbing noise". What can I do? Push caliper back, grind pad down, or spray something on rotor? Thanks for your time and help.

I inadvertantly bent dust shield when replacing wheel bearing - the shield was rubbing backside of rotor causing noise. A well placed hammer solved problem.
