My buddy has a 92 explorer with 6" of lift with 33's and wants to go to a big tire now. I know he can use 35's with some trimming but what about trying to get into the 40" range 2 more inches in spring spacers and a 3" body lift and 2" rear blocks? Where will 11"s total lift take him tire size with not to crazy of trimming.

Thanks in advance,
Darrell

i told him that he said then he will change the truck over to v8,and 1ton driveline. either way he wants to go as big as possible now. Even SASing what size lift will it take?

I think theres a dude on here SASing a 2nd gen and throwing 40" boggers on it...check out what he's doing

Buy an old 1-ton truck instead and modify accordingly (shorten if needed). This is the easiest and probably most cost effective solution.

That is what i am doing I am gonna get an old 1ton to beat.

damn darrell, fancy finding you on this thread :)

i like my truck and i wanna keep it instead of buying something bigger. im nothing but impressed with its ability so far and will end up heavily modifying anything i buy so its not like buying a 1 ton will save me any time, money or work(me and darrell were just discussiing the possibility of me buying my brothers super duty and 4 link 2.5ton swap on saturday). i'm just thinking we'll end up doing a lot of fender trimming and having to run some flares. i'm sure i'll end up having to sas it although im hoping that with enough gearing the 4.0 will turn 39s or 40s, if not i'll keep with the spirt it of doing things the hard way and start looking into a mod motor swap.

my friend had 42"s and a 302 in a '92ish explorer, it was lifted about 12".
