2003 explorer eb, i do not like the lights coming on when i turn off the car or open the door.

i know the interior instrument gauge adjuster can turn them off, but at night i would like to have my interior gauge lights on but not operate the switch everytime i want to turn off the car just to keep the overhead lights from coming on.

is there just some disconnect for it somewhere? or will i just have to take out the light bulbs?

thanks.

roll the dimmer all the way down

yes, i know that, but i just did not want to flip it on and off each time i turn off my car. i was wondering if i could just disconnect it somehow so it will never turn on unless i turn it on myself.

Subaru dome lights have an on, on when doors are open, always off switch on the dome lights themselves. You could always add a similar switch fairly easily.

my old xterra had the same also, could switch it to off.

i guess i will wait for a free weekend and rip into it to do it and just take out the lights from under the side view mirrors.
