We have a 1999 Mountaineer with leather interior. My goal is to convert both front seats to "heated" seats. I'm wondering how difficult it is to remove the leather to install the seat heaters? Has anyone done this? Too bad it's a Ford as my SAAB has all the seats heated from the factory, even the back seat. :)

Pull the seats out (4 bolts and the seatbelt T50 bolt), separate the seat top from the bottom bolts on the hinge.

Remove the frame from the seat bottom (black bolts on the silver rails)

Pop the plastic retainers and take off.

You'll have to pull some hog clips to get it all the way off in the center.

That's pretty much it, once you're into it, it's pretty obvious. The side plastic trim has some hidden screws and spring retainers, look carefully so you don't break the retainers or your seat side trim will not attach right and be loose.

Good luck!
