I can't understand why you would have a rub issue on a 2000 with 31's on a tt and shackles,,

i run a 31x105 tire with no tt and no shackles, and have no rubbing at all,

but ,

looking at my 99,

i would say just easing the bottom edge with a cut across at an angle should be enough to allow it to clear,

What tool should I use? And yeah the 16 inch rim is what increased the size a lot and it causing rubbing

i think the best way is to use a small disc grinder , and go slow, that way the end finishes off pretty smooth ,
using a sawzall is too rough and will leave a ragged edge

I don't understand? A 31" tire on a 16" rim is no different in size than a 31" tire on a 15" or 17" rim.

Either way my tires are still rubbing. I popped a peice of trim off of the back part of the wheel well and it eliminated running from the back part of the tire but it's till rubbing on the front bumper when turning

it should have room allaround with a tt, this is a 31 no tt,,

Post pics please, show us the tire/rim and where it's hitting. Can't believe a 31 is rubbing, especially with lift. My 30 clears with plenty of room, gonna go to 32's next time.

My 31s rubbed im guessing he has higher milage and a sagging suspension

I had rubbing with 31s with no lift, but they cleared with fine with tt/shackles. Each ex is different.

You said on 16 inch rims, what is the exact size, maybe you are running bigger than a 31. I run 265/75/16's. That is more the height of a 32, yet some people call it a 31. I did have very minor trimming, even with the TT to avoid rubbing when the wheels were cut all the way.

It also comes down to the offset of the wheels, if the backspacing is shallow then you'll have more rub. Just take a grinder with a cutoff wheel and slice off about an inch at an angle.

i agree with the saggy suspension, even after TT i have 265/75/16s that are 70% but still rub, i cut away at the bumper with a sawzall and smoothed the edges with a file
