I want to use the Zano Brothers wax "system" and was looking at the product line. They have stuff for regular paint and for clear coated. How do I determine what I have?

Thanks in advance....

Since you have a newer vehicle it is more then likely clear coated.
Is the color a solid color or metalic???
If metalic then it is clear coated.

Best way to find out is get the color code off your door and call a body shop or a supply store and they can tell you.

All Ford paint is clearcoated on newer vehicles. Really since the early 90s.

Thanks....

If you are waxing the 99 XLT is is definately clear coated.

A lot of times you can find out by taking a white rag with some good cleaner wax and see if the rag becomes the color of the paint. The wax will take any dead, oxidized paint off of the vehicle.

Just for future reference, I was a little late on this one.
