- 2002 ranger xlt
i Seafoamed my 2002 4.0 ranger today.
i did it twice since the first time i barely got any smoke.
the first time i used a vaccuum line that is on the drivers side and goes up to the front of the intake manifold just behind the throttle body.
i traced the line and found a nipple fitting i could easily access and attach a funnel.
The second time i used the PCV inlet elbow into the intake manifold which is on the passenger side.
this is the PCV hard plastic tubing that crosses over from the PCV valve on the drivers valve cover.
THe hard plastic tubing just slips inside the rubber elbow. i pulled out the plastic line and rotated the elbow 90 degrees so the opening was facing up and stuck the funnel right in the elbow.
i got much better results using the PCV inlet and this is the one i plan to continue using.
