Humming noise of Fuel Pump

I have just bought my 05 Ford Sport Trac with a warranty. The fuel pump makes a humming noise when I get up between 40 and 60 mph on the gas pedal. It stops when I let off it. Is this normal?

It could be alot of things.

Are you sure its the fuel pump and not an exhaust leak or bad bearing on the tranny/trannycase/rearend? something going wrong in the rearend?

I deleted the 2nd one--and now we can try a fresh approach--ok?

How did you determine it is the fuel pump making noise? Is it the same sound you hear when you first switch the key on? You might take it to a dealership that has an identical sport trac on the lot. You did mention you had a warranty.

Now, as for your question going unanswered--it may be it was mis understood, or, your truck does have a problem that nobody has experienced.
