Hunterdan's 98 Sport

Just got back from a test drive, 2008 Nissan Frontier, V6 5sp auto. Very nice, very quick and very reasonable. If they get me the color I like, and the payments I want, it could be a done deal.

I love the frontiers... I was between buying a 4-door frontier and the sport i have now when I was shopping around. My next vehicle is either going to be a ranger (assuming they continue making them) or a frontier.

I don't even know what a frontier looks like, I don't care for the nissan brand though cuz I know nothing about'em and they're not a Ford :D lol. Is it 4wheel or AWD?

the ones i was looking at were all 4x4

Heres the frontier, and I'm looking at one of these colors.

Oh ok, so its a pickup, I thought it was an suv like the pathfinder.

Go with the grey/silver. I've always liked it, wish my explorer was that color sometimes.

You know... if you can find someone with a compressor and a good spray gun, we can always paint your ex that color... Or you could just go all out and use herculiner on everything, just be careful where you get the stuff....

Nah, I'm totally down with the red now. I've gorwn to love it. And if I ever use Herculiner, I will be sure to cover up, good lookin out.

Dude, why not buy your Explorer back for cheap? Use the rest of the money for a down payment and have the Explorer as a project?... Come on! Don't abandon your sport.. it's still good!!!

any decision yet on the frontier? I really like the 4 doors/crew cab style! Do they still offer a Super Charged version?

A co-worker has a s/c one.. he's having problems with the blower.. also I see them all over the place for sale..

IMO, It's better to go aftermarket with turbo/super charger onto a stock vehicle. Not get one with one installed already..... Maybe... idk.....

Still waiting on the check to come in, I'm hoping the check is here by the end of the week or sometime next week. All I'm waiting on is the bank I was financing my sport through. My payments are going to be high because of my interest rate, but I can still afford it, so I think I am going to pull the trigger on it as soon as I get the check. I really liked that truck and I'm still single with minimal expenses. As far as being supercharged, the newer ones don't need it, the new 4.0 they are using puts out 261 hp and 281 ft-lbs of torque. Most owners that I've read about actually say it has plenty of power for its size. But I have read that a Titan 5.6 will literally bolt in place of the 4.0. Apparently the Titan and Frontier share a lot of components and seems the frame is similar. The one I'm looking at is just the extended cab version, I don't really need the extra people carrying capacity. And around here, it is hard for me to find a used one for sale, I have seen a few, but not many, more toyotas and chevys than anything. The other party, the girl that hit me has apparently accepted responsibility for the accident, so I will be getting most if not all of my out of pocket expenses back, mainly for the rental. So things are looking up, but its taking some time, hopefully not too much longer.

Ok, I finally got a new truck today, a 2008 Nissan Frontier SE King Cab V6 in Black. It is a very sharp looking truck and got a great deal on it. I have one pic I took with my camera phone, as soon as I get a chance I will post some pictures up and possibly start another thread about it in the proper forum.

Wow, looks sharp Dan!

Best of luck with her.

nice truck dan.good luck with it.one of y friends has a titan, and one of the guys i work with has a 4dr frontier

Thanks guys, I must say that I have never been a fan of black cars, but I think this truck has changed my mind. Its like looking at a mirror.... I will get some more pics tomorrow. Oh yeah.. the 4.0... is very snappy...:burnout:

It feels like a very solid truck, nice shifting tranny, and surprisingly, the stock stereo has almost as much bass as my ex did with a sub... More pics to come!!:D

It's a shame what happened to your explorer, but with that snazzy(:)) new frontier it could be a blessing in disguise. I almost got a frontier instead of my mountaineer a couple years ago, they're really nice trucks and still one of the more capable offroaders on the market. I remember being really impressed with the whole truck. The current pathfinders have the optional 5.6 V8, so the frontier could likely have that option in the future. And good choice with the extended cab, the 4-doors are more expensive anyway. Good luck with the new truck.

Thanks, yeah I prefer the look of the extended cab myself. And from what I have read, the 5.6 from the titan will literally bolt into the frontier. I actually couldn't imagine having the 5.6 in this thing, it pulls hard... I feel as though I made a good decision and am very happy.
