Hypertech Programmer

I have a 2007 Explorer 4.6l that we tow a 29' tavel trailer with. The truck is ok for towing but is pretty weak at the pump as to be expected.

I've been considering a Hypertech Econ or Max Power programmer to boost up the juice a bit.

Its a given that I'll get more HP & Torque out of the deal but will I notice it that much pulling the 7200lb trailer. Enough to warrant the $400 I'm going to shell out for this thing?

Does anyone have a programmer? Thoughts? Recommendations?

I would suggest a Superchip programmer with tunes by Mike at 5 Star Tuning.

I spend a lot of time on another Ford Truck forum and have bought from Mike for my 07 V10 superduty. The V10 is a 3V just like our 4.6. The tunes I got from him actually did increase my mileage...towing and empty.

There are a lot of tuners out there and most are not what they are cracked up to be. Some are good though and my experience with 5 Star is why i recommend it.

Ok cool... I'll check that out. I'm thinking that cost vs effect may not be worth it for the 10 times we tow..but more power is always better
