2005 Lincoln Aviator
So back in 2014 I got a 2003 Ford Explorer Limited, that a friend gave to me for free. Drove it for 4 1/2 years, and eventually had to scrap it in 2019 after because it rusted out and became unsafe to drive.

I replaced the Explorer with a 2009 Ford Flex SEL which I like, but I don’t love. I’ve put a crap ton of money into it over the last 3 years, and I’m just not getting the enjoyment out of it that I thought I would. So I’m giving it to my Dad who needs a vehicle to replace his rusted out 2004 Subaru Legacy.

In order to replace the Flex… The same friend that gave me the free Explorer all those years ago, just gave me a 2005 Lincoln Aviator… For free…. Again.

It needs a bit of work to get it on the road, and I have my work cut out for me getting it cleaned up, but I know it will serve me well for years to come.

I’m sure I’ll learn the ins and outs of the Aviator soon enough, but the one thing I’m curious about is how do I tell what trim package it is? Like what clues do I look for to tell the difference between a base model, Premium, Ultimate, etc. trim?

Welcome back to the forums! Very nice of your friend! Not as familiar with Lincoln as much just know it's the fancier ford pretty much, no badges anywhere or anything? May be able to find it on a vin search, though saying that, tild me my '99 X was anything but an XLT like she was, several times it said eddie bauer; so I'm not 100%, but I wish ya luck on it

Well I bit the bullet, and got a Marti Report for the Aviator. Turns out it does have the Elite package. Swanky.
