Well as you can see I have been a member for a short while, but have never gotten around to posting. So I figured today is the day for my introduction.
Hi everyone, I'm a creepy college kid from Northern Jersey (the nice part of Jersey), and now I am finishing up school in Vermont. I have been an explorer enthusiast since I got my first truck when I was in high school. Her name was Dora (as you probably figured out). I know its not a whitty name, but hey, it got the job done. She was a 01 Explorer Sport with 65,000 miles on her to start off.
Like anyone's first whip, magic happened in Dora. From driving around the woods all night, to beating Jeeps at tug of war, to even practicing making babies with some wacky ladies, Dora and I have been through it all. I drove her for about sixty thousand miles until I got into a little fender bender...
So my little incident happened a few months ago on my way home from a concert / making a fool of myself on the dance floor (no I did not get a DUI or any ticket from the accident.) This left me carless though... and in Vermont there is no such thing as walking anywhere, riding my bike anywhere, or public transportation. So I quickly became addicted to Craigslist and the local dealers until I found Black Betty. She's a 2000 Explorer XLS 5 speed with 100,000 miles on her. For $2,000 I couldn't say no. I knew there was a few minor things wrong when I picked her up, but nothing a full tune up (plugs, wires, cold air intake, etc.), lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, intake manifold gasket, both hubs (with ABS sensors), timing chain cover gasket, set of swampers on American Racing rims, and pinion seal couldn't fix.
So here is a picture of my first attempted flex in a powder snow bank after I put the swampers on. I thought it was funny because I just drove through the snow as oppose to on top of it.
So there you go... My little intro. Sorry for writing a novel.
