I have a 1997 Ford Aerostar Cargo Van with door ajar issue.

Sprayed all latches, replaced the only plunger switch on inside driver body panel. Even with the switch disconnected, door ajar light, it stays on when the van is operating.
But goes off when van is off and I suspect it's draining my battery. Spraying with lubricant and closing doors don't work. Doors are not loose.
Any help appreciated.

Check the lower set of contacts on the sliding door. The tabs compress over time, and cause an intermittent connection.

There's a switch in the hatch latch which could be an issue just in case it's not the sliding door. I saw a listing on EBay for that switch, but the listing calls it a sliding door switch. It's not for the sliding door.
