This looks like a great place to help with a few mysteries of my Explorer! So glad this exists!

My '02 4WD has the apparently common flashing O/D light, but it's been on for a while (per my step-daughter about 15k miles). I drove it and it's functioning okay with the exception of a serious kick in the butt going into third gear. No slipping, shaking, shuddering or other complaints from me.

I've read a bunch of stuff on other sites with people complaining, but there's no info on what I need to do to fix this.

Anybody know what I need to do?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the EEC-V section. The flashing overdrive light represents a transmission code. You will have to get the computer scanned to find out what the code numbers are.
