- 1996 Ranger
I own a 1996 Ford Ranger, with a 3.0 V6 and four wheel drive (with the electronic locking hub mechanism) and the darn thing keeps having the same problem. This is the second time, and it's become quite frustrating. I live on the top of a very muddy hill, especially after all the snow we've had recently. I've been using 4wd low range lately and everything was working fine. Til tonight. I went to engage the 4wd to come up my muddy driveway, when it decided to not engage, and now the 4hi and 4lo indicator lights on the dash are blinking. when this happened before, it cost a small fortune to fix. Is there anything i can do at home to correct this problem and still have functioning 4wd?
