I just got myself a Blue 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD w/ a 4.0L.

:usa:I have a Explorer that I just picked up for $2k, and I am wondering. How I can put some more punch to it? You know, horse power.
I have a 4-speed Automatic in it and I am wondering what engine mods I can put on the 4.0L V-6 and/ or the overdrive Automatic.

My Explorer w/ muffler, intake, and a new battery? Good or not?

:usa:I was thinking about a new K&N intake, battery, and a simple muffler. What kind? Is that a good idea? Please comment.

welcome

u can put exhaust and intake and headers and possibly supercharger and other stuff to add more power

Which V-6? There were 2.

The Pushrod/OHV 4.0L

And the SOHC 4.0L

The SOHC 4.0 V-6. Not the Push-rod.

Its a '96, not a '97. I think I will save for Flowmaster headers, exhaust, K&N High Flow Intake, and going to get a better battery (Optima gel battery).
