After installing my CF bezel and indiglo guages (they look great!!), I left off for a date with my girlfried. We were heading out to a nice restaurant when I was T-boned by a guy driving a caravan who ran a red light!!!! This X is a real tank. He had to have his caravan towed away and I continued on my date- luckily nobody was injured or suffered from neck injuries. we got pretty lucky. I'm in talks with his insurance company but I'll probably have a hefty bill to fix :( . He hit me right at the rocker panels and the rear passenger fender, but it didn't even touch the frame. Great truck, it's moments like this that I'm happy I didn't buy a small car instead:D .
I just had it painted too. I wish people would pay attention when they drive!
Had to vent, sorry guys.

Dude that sux...... wel atleast your truck stood up to his mini van HAHA

hope everythign works out for ya !!

PEACE

Damn that sucks man, but why would you have a hefty bill to pay? Neither of you had insurance?

Oops, I guess I should have said that his insurance had a hefty bill...:D Thank you all for your support.
Xplorerkid- Thanks, there was some happiness to be found in not taking the brunt of the damage.
Tas98xlt- what do you do for your job? I know a couple of couriers where I work and that is some risky business, driving around all day- talk about putting your life on the line. Good for you and stay safe
DonM- You're absolutely right, the insurance will cover it, though I'm not sure if his insurance will cover the shop of my choice:mad: .

Actually, it sounds like th Caravan killed itself...:D

That is why we drive trucks.....;)

It always happens after a new paint job

Push them, they'll cave.

I Killed a Caravan

You did the world a favor.

Glad to here no one was hurt. I hope they fix your truck good for you!

it is your right to get it fixed in a shop of your choice!

i had an accident with my s10 blazer guy did not see me and pulled right in front of me (his fault) now that i think of it he was in a caravan also!! blazer was totaled and now i have an X not too bad of a trade off

Yes, yes, yes by law the insurance company CAN NOT make you take it any where. It is your truck take it where ever you want to.

Good news you two were oaky !!!!!!

In a contest between unibody vs. body-on-frame, the body-on-frame truck will always win! Sorry about the accident, but at least you don't drive a unibody. :D

Thanks all! I was unaware that I have the final say in where it goes, I always thought that the insurance company would pay a set amount...the insurance companies must love me:D .
Sorry to hear your S10 blazer was totaled metstalker, those are great little trucks. Thank you all for your support and information! The poor kid that nailed me was 17 years old and on his way to the high school prom with his date...poor guy. Like you all said, we're all lucky nobody got hurt.

The title of your thread should be "A Caravan commited suicide on my Explorer!".

U need a decal of a mini van with an x over it on the side your truck when all repairs are done

Rick- That's more like it!
Pico- Way ahead of you ;) ...to be continued...

SO, how did the date go.?

Anybody ever notice how an awful lot (most) of the older Caravans are oil burners? Seems like I see one at least once a week with a trail of blue smoke.
