hey guys. i kno a few of you guys new i was putting a 4 inch lift on my 93 explorer, well i got it about a week and a half ago and put it in today......well after it was installed i noticed a liguid all over the place and the first thing that hit my head was power steering pump. low and behold it was. one thing always leads to another.... anyways how much is it for a new one? how much to have them put it in? or to atleast have someone rebuild it. its 9;30 right now so i cant call anyone and im to pissed to look. well any answers will help.............:thumbdwn:

Check your power steering lines first! I had to replace one of the hoses/lines on my 94 that was leaking. Do it Yourself.

Apparently sometimes when you turn the wheel with the car off/ up on jack stands sometimes power steering fluid will squirt out of the filler cap. If I remember correctly I've seen it happen to a few people on the forum.

If you are actually leaking though, it is most likely going to be your pressure line that cracked, which should run you under $40. Like mawrazen said, check your lines first - huge difference in repair price for a line versus the pump.

Is it still an active leak? Can you run the truck and pinpoint the area?

i cant cuz the fan squirts the power steering fluid all over the place. and the only reason i knew was because it was all over tohe place um i kno i dammaged it when i pulled the stock pitman arm off. i have seen it happen before si i think i might have broke a seal. hope i didnt crack it. but

i want to say it around this area. i am almost positive its the seal. if its not tht seal then its comming from the bottom

i cant tell for sure cause the fan blows well i try to look and i cant tell where its comming from. i will take it in soon.

Try a new or rebuilt pump.
