I migh tbe back! Need advice on a 93 Eddie Bauer!!

Hey fellas,

need some advice. I'm going to look at a 93 Eddie Bauer Explorer and heres the details.

No leather, no sunroof, has everything else. No sign of rust at all, body in near new condition.

Never towed, never offroad.

This is not a typo, but it has just 90K kilometers on it. Thats about 50-odd k miles for you US folks.

The owner is asking 8900 Canadian, but I know I can bring him down some. AC was just converted over last year, and theres every piece of documentation with this truck right down to the original bill of sale.

What would you think would be a fair offer? I don't want to insult him, but I was thinkin around 7300 or so?

That's $5,577 American dollars, WAY too much for an almost 12 year old EB. It sounds like a well maintained truck, but I don't think I'd give more then $4,000 American for that ($5,236 Canadian)

Well explorers alone can usually fetch a nice dollar here in Alberta too. Again all depending on mileage and condition.

This rig though, is ridiculous. Theres no way this truck will sell for what you're sayin given the fact that xlt's and higher mileage limiteds in the same area are going for 6k-6900. I'm not arguing I'm just trying to relay the market.

Its the nature of the beast I guess. I know if I try to offer 5xxx.xx for this truck, i'll probably get kicked in the back.

I can't find an EB or limited for approx 5k unless I want to go 91 or 92 with miles out the ying yang.

2 other places for an example, both have 93 Limiteds, (which I'll be looking at as well) with 140k on the clock, both asking 6900.

If Explorers really go for that much up there, could you instead come down to the US and find one? Or is it really a pain to get it into Canada?

I'm not sure what kind of hassle it would be to get one brought into Canada from the US.

Food for thought, so you get an idea, go to www.canadatrader.com and under Light Truck/SUV search for 93-94 Explorers and have a look at the prices Granted I've limited my shopping to Eddie Bauers and Limiteds.
