Alright im use to owning rangers or f150s and today i was going to change the altenator on my xplorer but i could not find a spring tensor

i looked online and every site says there should be a spot to insert the rachet head into and pull down to loosen the belt

i am have no luck in finding this location was told the lowest left pully but still no luck
and on the little picture under the hood it says belt tensor turn clockwise and it does nothing

if anyone could help me out that would be great thanks

You can see it here. Left side. Top.

Climb under your rig and look up. Tight fit up there.

In the photo posted by section 525, the tensioner is the black grooveless pully on the left. There is no hole to put a ratchet in. You must use an open end or box wrench to rotate it with the nut in the middle. If you have a shallow socket/ratchet combination you can use that.
