Its a "single overhead cam", not a "dual" . Or its the overhead valve design (OHV).
Either way, you dont really need to touch the engine much to remove the transmission besides the dipstick and other minor things like turning the crank (via main pulley) with a wrench to get to the torque converter bolts and the driver's side exhaust tube which the catalytic converter is welded to.
I suggest that you get a Repair Manual from your local parts store (PepBoys, Advanced Auto, etc..) which will pretty much walk you through the entire process.
