I got caught in a bad rain storm 2 days ago and my favorite boots ~ Ariat Roper Pro ATS's got soaked pretty good... I love these things and try to keep em good and treated.. Anyone know the best boot cream to protect my high heel'd boots (not really b/c they're ropers...) Thanks y'all! ;)

Go to a local boot establishment and ask the guys there, they will know and have a more informed opinion than most people here will.:p

All you have to do is get something like mink oil and put that on every now and them. I use KIWI camp dry mink oil. It waterproofs and conditions the boots. That what I use on my boots.

Really? I thought I heard somewhere that mink oil is too heavy and will discolor the leather used for most western boots. They aren't exotics (no full quill ostrich for me thank you) but they are a nice calfskin I think...

What, you just assume that becasue we're in Texas we have boots? Well it's not necessarilly true. Yes, I happen to be wearing boots right now, but that's besides the point.

If they are just leather boots, then you should be able to go to any good shoe store and get some leather treatment. Just check around.

No, but I figure I would go straight to the source.. Why ask anywhere other than the Lone Star state? ;)

More specifically you need to talk to someone from Fort Worth who's in good with the establishments in the Stockyards where they sell the best handcrafted boots.

I'd use some saddle soap, but then my boots don't get worn that much either. (they are my go-to-town shoes when tennis shoes aren't dressy enough and my dress shoes are too dressy)

Sorry, I forgot the smiley. Was supposed to be a friendly comment. :p

Not all of us Texans wear boots you know? *Hides his two pairs of boots* :D

I just use either saddle soap or leather cleaner. You can get them pretty cheap at a feed & seed store or a co-op.

I have never owned a pair of cowboy boots. And I'd from West Texas.
