the guy down the street from me had a lot of problems with his blown 347, could be a simple issue like the shop didnt do a good job. So I took this in to consideration.

I still have time to decide on which to choose, but Im leaning toward the 331.

Bob, thanks for the upgrade in headers.

for all that money.... you could get a SAS, SOA, custom bumpers sliders and probly a cage. regear and lock the truck and have just as much fun on the rocks as you could going 110.

P.S. before my lift, my v6 could do 110 sometimes and sometimes it rev limited at 105. scared the crap outa me first time i hit the rev limiter. thought i broke something. you should go with some sporty 17's. blingin 20's was last year. j/k. good luck with the engine overhaul and future s/c.

I spent to much money on it to look pretty.

they are 22's ;)

grrr, now i have to take my sub box (and components) and rims off for a whole month... im taking my truck to the performance shop next tuesday or wednesday and i dont want my stuff to get jacked while its there, and knowing most shops, they probably have a notice or something saying that they arnt liable for anything stolen or damaged while its in their posession...

the fun part is that ill get to roast the old tires :)

around $4000 and i decided 347 because i MIGHT stop after that for a long while. supercharger will get installed myself and tuned by Doug possibly.

I think you did good, a 347 is down a little on hp but way up on torque.
I just got a video uploaded of sound if you want to hear it

mine will definately not sound like that... mine will be a huge suprize.

what kind of exhaust setup do you have?

I got it to work! Truck sounds great and looks pretty quick!

Soo who built the motor? How's the drivability such as in traffic, gas mileage, highway driving and such? Stock converter?

Thanks. The engine machining, blueprinting, and building was done by a local racing engine builder, however I installed it myself.
It has an Art Carr 3000 rpm flash lockup converter
I get about 20 mpg on highway, and it drives like normal ( my wife drives it sometimes) . Just put it in D and go.
Idle is 900 rpm's with 13 inches of vacuum
Btw I'm still afraid to floor it. That was only a 5500 rpm shift

I am really wanting to make some motor changes, but I have to recover from building my new house. It's done, but it cost much more because of all the increases..

As far as the grill, A friend of mine put it together. He took a good Mounty grill and cut out the Mercury emblem. Then we got one from the junk yard that was already broke. Cut out the vertical bars and place them where the Mercury emblem was. I really like the way it looks.

I have been thinking about just modifying my motor, such as a Trick Flow stage one cam, head porting and a chip hoping that would gain me some torq and HP. It might be best just to go for the crate motor or something. Did you make a computer change?

I am using the stock PCM with a piggyback Apten Flip chip ( 3 programs)
If it were me I'd do the crate motor, if you can, so you have the original engine just in case.
Also, use a good torque converter. You wouldn't believe what a difference it will make, especially with a cam. I called both TCI and Art Carr, they will build one based on your camshaft profile and vehicle weight.

Thanks for the good info! Maybe a crate motor makes better sense. The package is usually already works well where mine would be a shot in the dark.

Let me know if you make the change in your grill. I have the necessary pieces to replace the emblem with.

By the way what heads and headers did you use? I am running the Ford Motorsport headers and I am assuming that I would need to stay with the GT40P heads so the headers will work. Also assuming that there are no other headers that will fit?
