Just got done with almost the entire front end that was squeaking and creaking and groaning.

I had 2 or 3 weeks with a perfectly quiet ride and now I've got a squeak coming from the driver side rear...

I tried blasting some white lithium grease on both ends of the rear drivers side sway bar link, and in the bushing where it mounts to the frame. No help.

I've spent ages lying underneath and pulling down on the rear bumper. I'm having a really hard time locating it...

Rear shakle bushings i would say.

Rear shakle bushings i would say.

Oh yeah, good shout.

I'll try soaking those with grease tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks.

This noise sounds like rubber rotates/rides on metal. The shakle bolts are getting into one unit with the metal sleeves cause of rust,
the rubber inserts rotating at the sleeves. Grease soaking could only be a temporary fix, greasable bolts and PU bushings are better.
But it is a pain to get the bolts out.

You have new shocks? Get your ear down there while someone push the car down.
Good luck!

I sprayed down a few things with white lithium grease:

- sway bar link bushings
- forward leaf spring mount bushings
- the leaf springs themselves

Nothing helped in the moment after applying, but after 900 miles to and from Vegas, the squeaking is totally gone.

I don't know whether it was just the extreme heat and dryness, or whether the long drive gave the grease time to work its way in.

Either way. Problem solved for now...
