Hello,

Today I changed the idle control unit after the idle jumped form 900 to 2000 while i was at a stop light, also while parking, shut the truck off and on seem ok... Now that i replace the Idle control unit and re-set computer the truck idles at 500 to 600 rpm's. The truck used to idle at about 850 to 800 rpm. now lights blink, voltage meter jumps. I changed the ICU first, altinator second because the bearing were making a loud noise and pully was shaky.

***** Does the idle on the trottle body needs to be adjusted? *********

Well it looks like Auto Zone gave me a bad idle control unit. A pal of mine gave a ICU and idle ok but after using the Air condition idle back to 2200 rpm's. Its looks like it could be the MAS or the throttle position sensor. Any idea's.....

Ok it was the throttle position sensor.

Mine has always idled at 600 RMP. It will be higher before it warms up, and it does jump when I tun on the air, but 600 seems correct to me. No lights or volt meters jump either.

THanks
