Idle Problems

[Nuggethead 420]

Problem,
The engine idles rough after replacing the head gaskets push rods, and intake upper and lower gaskets. new spark plugs and wires.
Engine starts and dies right away when cold.
when you do get it running it idles low and rough.
When you unplug the mass flow air sensor it idles about 1500 rpms but dies when youopen the throttle wide.
I cannot figure out what to do.

Also the trans runs to 5000rpms before first shift when cold but then runs fine after that.
Any help whould be awsome.

Check the Idle air control valve for your engine trouble. Also, make sure all everything is torqed down properly after you head gasket install.
