i have a 2000 explorer with a 4.0L SOHC V6. Ill start it and itll rev to about 2000 before dropping to 500. sometimes at that point itll stall and others itll rattle back to life and be fine. also if i rev it when i start it up, even just a little, it wont stall. help?

First, clean the idle air control valve, and the inside of the throttle body. Use intake cleaner NOT carburetor cleaner.
