disconnecting the fuel lines . This is a 94 explorer and I am going to change the sending unit and probably the fuel pump . My trouble is removing the fuel
lines . I took the 2 stainless clips off and tried to disconnect but no go . I did
not want to pull to hard but is there a trick that release these type connectors ? Any help greatly appreciated . Thanks Dan

Hey, that's cool - your fuel line is transparent - mine is opaque, it makes it much harder to see the clips to release them. :D

I searched yahoo for a pic and one of the first ones was from this site! But I don't know who owns the transparent lines or where they sourced them from. :( I just stole it.

That's okay - I don't see any copyright notice. :p:

Theif... :D

Yep- there is a spring inside the end of the line that the blue tool in the pic "spreads out" so the shoulder of the filter can slide off.

No raunchy comments about using "tool" "spreads out" and "slide" in the same sentence... LOL

My springs disintegrated and I cut off the line and replaced it with "blue lined" fuel injection rated hose.

I fought with that for 4+ hours before I took the plunge and replaced th line.
